Local pastor killed for drug money

A local pastor is beaten to death with a hammer, and his confessed killer has turned himself in.

Jacksonville Police say 24-year-old Terrence Rashad Wright drove up to a police substation this afternoon and told officers at the review desk that he had killed someone by beating him in the head with a hammer.  He was driving a vehicle registered to 1625 North Market Street, a home affiliated with the Glorious Church of the Lord.

Police responded to that home and found church Pastor, 76-year-old John Henry Bowser, dead of severe head trauma.

Wright confessed to the beating, telling police he wanted to steal money to buy crack cocaine.  He has been arrested for murder.
