They were shot.
It's what we now know about the two people found inside a burning SUV last week in St. Augustine.
The city police department has identified the two as Charles Durden, 27, of Fleming Island and Staffon Larry, 26, of St. Augustine.
Police say the District Medical Examiner's Office has ruled their deaths as homicides, with the cause of death being a gunshot and arson.
Detectives are continuing to pursue leads and they ask that anyone with information contact the St. Augustine Police Department or the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
