Murder victim’s father: “I told her she was gonna die”

Rucker (None None None)

Jacksonville — The family of murder victim Ashlee Rucker is speaking out following the shooting of their daughters.

JSO caught Chad Absher yesterday after he was on the run for more than 24 hours after police say he shot Ashlee and Lisa Rucker, killing Ashlee.

The family spoke with our news partner Action News Jax and the family says they could tell the relationship between Ashlee and Chad was bad from the beginning.

“I wish that someway she would of listened to me because I told her this was coming, I told her she was gonna die.” Her father Roger Rucker says.

The family says that Absher would beat Ashlee so bad that she would have to go to the hospital.

“I told her she was gonna be shot, not beat up, shot, and it happened. I just knew it, I just knew it.” Says Roger Rucker.

The Family says they would plead and scream for her to call the police when the beatings happened, but the family says she was too scared of him.

Absher is accused of shooting Ashlee’s sister Lisa as well. According to the family, Lisa is expected to make a full recovery.

The family plans to hold a memorial for Ashlee Sunday afternoon from 2-4 at the Lion Club on East Port Road.

Absher is set to make his first court appearence this afternoon.
