Jacksonville, FL — A 17-year-old was flown to UF Health in Jacksonville with critical injuries, after a crash on U.S. 1 near Palencia this morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the skateboarder was traveling southbound in the left shoulder, before veering to the right and being hit by a van around Pine Island Road. The driver of the van administered CPR until rescue arrived, according to FHP.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
FHP says any charges are pending further investigation.
