A political expert tells WOKV New Jersey Governor Chris Christie made the right decision to apologize and fire a top aide accused of shutting down lanes of the George Washington Bridge.
"This isn't necessarily something that's going to affect him a year or two year's down the road."
Assistant professor of political science Michael Binder tells WOKV the American public is forgiving and also forgetful.
"If the public buys it I think it will be a quick little bump in the road."
The George Washington Bridge traffic shutdown is rumored to have been retribution for the Fort Lee mayor's refusal to support Christie's re-election bid.
Christie denies any involvement.
However, Binder says if evidence reveals in the future that Christie may have had some involvement, it could be problematic.
