Two women found dead in a Westside home

Two women were found dead inside their Westside home Sunday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office believes the women were mother and daughter.

The man who discovered the bodies was not related to the women and was later taken in for police questioning.

The incident happened in the 5600 block of Shady Pines Street South before 11 a.m., according to JSO.

Police responded the same house earlier this month for burglary, but would not say if the incidents were related.

“I can't say definitively if there was a connection between that burglary and this incident,” said Sgt. Dan Janson.

Neighbors said most of the crimes that happen in the area are people egging cars and breaking light bulbs.  One resident said nothing this sinister has happened and believes this is an isolated incident.

JSO has not released the women’s names or how they were killed.
