Uber and the Jacksonville Aviation Authority have reached an agreement for the company to legally operate at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX).
According to Uber, pickup fees for transportation network companies and tax companies will now be $2.50, with fees changing to $3.25 for both, beginning on September 1, 2017.
General Manager of Uber Florida, Kasra Moshkani, released the following statement:
“Earlier today, Uber and the Jacksonville Aviation Authority reached an agreement in principle regarding pickup fees and an operating agreement at Jacksonville International Airport. We thank the airport's leadership for working to ensure that Jacksonville residents continue to have access to affordable and reliable transportation options.”
Meanwhile, JAA released this statement:
“Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) and Uber have reached an agreement for the rideshare company to legally operate at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). There will be no disruption in service for Uber users.”
Public affairs manager for Uber in Florida, Javi Correoso, said JAX was charging Uber $3.25, while Gator City cab was paying $2.50 for the per-trip fee.
