UPDATE: Missing 60-year-old man found 9 days later, thanks to a citizen tip

Jacksonville, FL — It's some good news from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

9 days after Donald Lee Smith, 60, was reported missing, police say he has finally been found.

JSO says a tip came in late last night, saying they believed Smith had been in the area of Blanding Boulevard and Wilson Boulevard this past Thursday. When police searched that area, they found Smith.

Police say Smith was confused and did not know how to get home. He's now being medically evaluated.

The Sheriff's Office is thanking the tipster, who emailed the information 'just in case' saying the following: "That “just in case” email, has truly helped Mr. Smith who has been missing and wandering the streets of Jacksonville for nine days."
