The drive-thru of a bank on the Northside collapsed Thursday night. The incident happened at the Wells Fargo on Dunn Avenue near I-95.
No one appeared to be injured. Firefighters left the scene as soon as they determined the rest of the building was secure.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene, but said it was not a criminal investigation before leaving.
Yellow caution tape surrounded the scene of the collapse Friday morning. The debris was still visibly hanging from the drive-thru ceiling and splintered wood lined the area.
The reason for the collapse is unclear. Employees of Wells Fargo said they were not allowed to speak about the incident.
WOKV reached out to the National Weather Service of Jacksonville early Friday morning. They said they had not been asked to do a weather-related survey of the incident.
Strong winds and heavy rain blew through the area Thursday evening.
