FHP: Three pedestrians killed in separate crashes in St. Augustine

Jacksonville, Fl. — Two deadly crashes just a little over an hour apart killed three pedestrians in St. Augustine Tuesday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the first crash happened on State Road 16 near the St. Augustine Premium outlets. 45-year-old Dannyn Leyendecker was driving west in the right lane. A woman who has yet to be identified and 36-year-old Eric Blanton were trying to cross SR-16 when they were hit. They were pronounced dead at the scene by St. Johns County Fire and Rescue Department. Charges are currently pending.

The second crash happened on U.S. 1 near Ocean Boulevard. Troopers say 58-year-old Elaine Satkowski was trying to cross U.S. 1 when she was hit by 36-year-old Barry Waldschidmidt. Charges are pending for this crash as well.
