A 12-year girl died on Friday, following a car accident in Arlington.
According to police, Savannah Pheiffer was riding a rear passenger inside the extended cab of a pick up truck heading northbound on Townsend Boulevard and Merrill Road back on April 4th.
A pontiac then crashed into the rear of the pickup truck going close to 100 mph.
The pickup then hit two other vehicles before coming to a stop as a result of that impact.
Pheiffer, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was taken to a hospital, where she died Friday.
She was one of eight people injured in the wreck. The driver of that Pontiac was taken into custody and alcohol is believed to have played a role in the crash, police said.
A full investigation is ongoing.
