On Monday, the Green Cove Springs Police Department opened the doors to a new $5 million facility.
The new building is located on State Road 16. City leaders say the building came in at its project budget. The city used $750,000 in confiscated drug money, along with a $400,000 grant from Congresswoman Corrine Brown's office to fund the project. An addition $2.4 million came from a federal loan.
The facility will also house an emergency operations center.
