JSO works to build community trust through new partnership

Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Bethune-Cookman University to provide training sessions focused on building and maintaining community trust.

JSO says sworn members will get training sessions with strategies to establish positive relationships in this diverse community and to minimize “cultural misunderstandings and negative interactions”.

This program has been in the works since last summer, with the proposal recently accepted by JSO. Funds allocated for agency training will be used for this program.

JSO says the training will start next week. Sworn members from various ranks will be involved.
