Jacksonville, FL — A Jacksonville toddler remains in critical condition, but now the man accused of shooting him is in police custody.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says 22-year-old Brian Littles turned himself in Friday and has been arrested for possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent, stemming from a 2010 case. Littles is believed to be responsible for the overnight double shooting on Broadway Avenue, and is currently being questioned by Homicide investigators.
JSO says Littles is the ex-boyfriend of the 3-year-old’s mother. The mother was also hit in the shooting, but has since been treated. The toddler was shot in the back of the head, according to the incident report. There were other people in the home at the time, including a five-year-old, but nobody else was injured.
Investigators say there was some kind of “domestic situation” between Littles and the mother ahead of the shooting. There is no other information immediately available regarding motive.
