Tax holiday saves hurricane shoppers money

Florida's hurricane sales tax holiday runs from May 31st until June 8th. It means if you buy any approved item on the state Department of Revenue's
list, the sales tax you would normally pay is waived.

This year, if there's any confusion about what is included in the holiday, the department says they've put a QR code you can scan with your smartphone, on
signs that announce the holiday.

The Florida Retail Federation says many of it's members are gearing up for the holiday, and while they do see increased sales, the federation says it's
more of a way to make sure Floridians are well prepared for the upcoming hurricane season.
