Jacksonville — Two men face burglary charges after St. Augustine Police caught them attempting to steal money from a wishing well.
According to police, they were called to the Oldest School House at 3:40 a.m. Monday morning, after someone reported a burglary in progress.
When police arrived an employee said the alarm went off and there was activity in the courtyard. Police found the two men, Nicholas Helsel and Joseph McDade inside of the locked fence area taking money from the well.
As officers approached, Helsel was standing inside the gate and McDade was hiding at the bottom of the well hiding under the water.
Both men were arrested and charged with Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling.
