Two people are in the hospital following an early morning crash on Monday in St Johns County on I-95 southbound.
A tire blew out on the Harley Davidson motorycle ridden by 64-year-old Patrick Potzruski and 56-year-old Yvonne Potzruski, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report that WOKV News obtained. The rear tire blew out, fcausing Patrick to lose control of the bike.
FHP tells us neither of the victims was wearing a helmet. As of Monday evening, Patrick is listed as being in serious condition and Yvonne is listed as critical.
The crash happened near Race Track Road. It took about 20 minutes for the victims to be flown to the hospital but the commute tied up traffic for nearly 2 hours.
