16-month-old dies after being left in car, parents both attorneys

We’ve confirmed the parents of the 16-month-old found dead in a car outside of her Lake City home both work in the judicial system.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has confirmed Wendy Timonera Kwon is an assistant state attorney and Young Kwon is an assistant public defender in the 3^rd Judicial Circuit. Because of their work with the state, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office has tapped the FDLE to conduct the investigation.

Right now, law enforcement says Kwon forgot he was supposed to take the baby girl to daycare and didn’t find her until getting back home later in the afternoon.

In addition to FDLE, we’re told the Florida Department of Children and Families is investigating. It’s not clear at this time if the parents will face charges.
