Day one of early voting in Jacksonville was mostly smooth, but it was not without drama.
We've learned there was an altercation between Councilwoman Kim Daniels and a campaign staffer at the Highlands library early voting site on the Northside.
It's not immediately clear whose campaign was involved in the incident but Elections supervisor Jerry Holland says it was not with any of the poll workers.
A campaign manager for Daniels claims she was assaulted and says they are allowing police to 'conduct a thorough investigation'.
Questions about who is behind the assault, the time it happened or what led to the altercation were not immediately answered by a spokesperson.
We're in touch with JSO to learn more details about the incident and will update you as we learn more details.
