Jacksonville Beach Police are investigating a fatal shooting outside of a home on Penman Road North, off Beach Boulevard.
Around 1:16 am Monday, officers were dispatched to a reported burglary in progress with shots fired in the 1200 block of Penman Road North.
Officers found a white man shot dead in the front yard of a residence.
This is currently an active investigation with limited information.
Police are asking drivers to avoid the 1200 block of Penman Road North, as there will be detours and possible traffic delays early Monday morning.
