YOU DECIDE 2024 coverage continues, as Eben Brown reports on a government funding bill that didn't make it to a House vote this week. One of the attachments was a GOP election security plan, featuring measures of the SAVE Act. If a revised funding plan is not passed, government funding will expire on Oct 1 resulting in another government shutdown.

STATE OF STUDENT - With students now back in class, the White House announced additional steps to combat absenteeism and provide new tools and resources for teachers following the pandemic. According to NEW data from Curriculum Associates, fewer students are achieving grade level placement than before the pandemic. However, since the return to in-person schooling, the percentage of grade K students on grade level in phonics has increased each year.
