Former UNF student accused of trying to extort sex acts, hiding cameras sentenced to 6 years in prison

Jacksonville, FL — A former University of North Florida student has finally learned his sentence, more than a year after he was first arrested by campus police.

WOKV told you back in April 2018, when Jesse Martinez was arrested on accusations that he tried to extort sex acts out of another UNF student by threatening to release nude photos of that individual.

Over the course of the University Police Department's investigation, Martinez was later accused of hiding cameras in various bathrooms on campus and in a residence hall.

The State Attorney's Office now tells us, that Martinez has received a 6 year sentence in Florida State Prison, followed by 5 years of probation for the extortion case.
