Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is turning to the community for help keeping the area safe.
Police say there's been an increase in vehicle burglaries over the past month. In most of the cases, police say the vehicle's windows were smashed in and center consoles were rummaged through.
Police say valuable items were not actually taken during these burglaries. Instead, they believe the suspects are specifically looking for firearms stored in the cars.
Police are again reminding you to keep your firearms and other valuable items secure.
