Tip to First Coast Crime Stoppers leads to arrest of Westside bank robbery suspect

Jacksonville, FL — A wanted bank robbery suspect is off the streets--- and it was all thanks to a tip!

First Coast Crime Stoppers is announcing the arrest of Sherry James, 49, in connection to a bank robbery last month on the Westside. FCCS say they received a tip from the public that identified James as the suspect that robbed the Alive Credit Union on Lenox Avenue on February 26th.  The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office then stepped in and arrested James.

In that robbery, JSO said the suspect handed one of the bank tellers a note demanding money and then took off on foot. Thankfully, no one was injured.

James is now charged with armed robbery, using a firearm or other deadly weapon.
