FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Floridians celebrating the first day of the new year on the East Coast were greeted by a peculiar sight off the coast as an unknown object appeared to launch into the sky over the ocean.
A viewer from Fort Pierce sent WFTV the footage, which you can see below.
There were no scheduled launches Wednesday at Cape Canaveral, and Patrick Air Force Base officials said it wasn’t them.
WFTV is reaching out to additional officials to figure out what it was.
