400+ personnel searching Camp Blanding for missing Army Reserve soldier

Jacksonville, FL — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says more than 400 personnel are headed into the woods at Camp Blanding Friday to search for a missing Alabama Army Reservist who may have become disoriented in the heat.

The Florida National Guard on Thursday put out an alert about the missing soldier.  According to their public affairs office, the soldier went missing about 11 AM on Wednesday during a land navigation course.

The Florida National Guard, the Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, and the Clay County Sheriff's Office were all searching for this missing soldier.

We're told due to the ongoing investigation, the soldier's name is not being released at this time.

Officials have not said what they believe the circumstances are surrounding the soldier's disappearance or if they believe the soldier's in danger.
