Jacksonville FL — As you get ready for any possible impacts from Hurricane Dorian, JEA says there is a new boil water advisory now in place near Cecil Field including the Bent Creek subdivision and Oakleaf area after a water main break Thursday morning.
The utility says the boil water advisory currently in place affects the following customers.
- West of SR23 to McClelland Rd in the Oakleaf Community
- North to New World Ave
- South to Oakleaf Plantation Parkway to include Piper Glen Blvd (Bent Creek Subdivision)
- IncludingSubdivisions of:
- Bent Creek Golf Course
- Shindler Cove Mobile Home Comm.
- Cecil Aquatics Center
- Jacksonville Equestian Center
- Cecil Field Industrial Complex
- Saddlebrook Landings
- Winding Mare
- Oakleaf Plantation
- Trails at Bent Creek
JEA says Plantation Oaks Elementary, Oakleaf Junior High School and Oakleaf High School are under this advisory. If you’re under the advisory, the utility says you should bring your water to a rolling boil for at least a minute if you need to use it for drinking or cooking. JEA says the notice will be in effect until the problem has been corrected and there’s been two days of positive test results.
