Jacksonville FL — JEA issued a precautionary boil water advisory Friday for the Jacksonville Heights area and other neighboring communities. The utility says the advisory is due to a 16″ water main break at Noroad and California Avenue near Old Middleburg Road.

The following communities are impacted by this advisory.

  • Jacksonville Heights Community
  • Gregory West Apartments
  • Family Dollar - 4210 Old Middleburg Rd N
  • Circle K - 4152 Old Middleburg Rd N
  • Gregory Drive Elementary School
  • Westin Community
  • Foxwood Community
  • Springtree/Springpointe Community
  • God’s Prophetic Outreach - 3920 Old Middleburg Rd N
  • TJ’s Small Appliances - 3740 Bramble Rd
  • Harvest Ministries Jax Campus - 2550 Fouraker Rd
  • Greater Church of God by Faith - 2434 Old Middleburg Rd N

JEA says if you’re in these areas then you should bring your water to a rolling boil for a minimum of one minute before you use it to drink, cook or prepare food. They also recommend flushing your water lines for three minutes after the water returns to get rid of any air or possible sediments from the lines.
