Jacksonville FL — We’re not even to spring yet, but Consumer Warrior Clark Howard says now is the time to start buying airline tickets for your summer plans. Clark says he believes this summer there will be a travel boom, especially for leisure travelers, since a lot of people are getting restless and tired of the pandemic. When you do buy airline tickets, Clark says don’t get the basic economy ones since you’ll be stuck with them if you have to cancel for some reason. He suggests getting another ticket that has more flexibility with it.
“If you later decide not to go, then you have like gift certificate money, you can use any time typically within a year”. Clark says.
Another benefit Clark says could happen with flexible tickets is if fares go down and not up, then you can get the difference that would be able to go toward another trip later.
