Jacksonville, Fl. — A Neptune Beach restaurant is bringing New England cuisine to the First Coast. Cousins Maine Lobster located on Atlantic Boulevard had its grand opening Friday night and it was met with overwhelming support.
"I actually had to take one of my employees to do crowd control because you can only have so many people enter the building," owner Julianne Lilly tells WOKV.
Lilly says this opening has been a year in the making and she was more than excited to bring favorites from the New England area to Jacksonville. She tells WOKV the lines started forming at noon on Friday for their 5 p.m. opening.

The restaurant had to close on Monday to regroup after running out of some of the inventory to serve customers. While lobster is part of the franchise’s name – Lilly says that was one of the things she did not run out of.
"We ran out of almost everything else, we sold a week's worth of food in 24 hours."
Because of the minor but welcomed bump in the road, Lilly says Cousins Maine Lobster will be opening Tuesday at 11 a.m. with a limited menu. She hopes to have a full menu by Wednesday.
