Fall Career Fair, 'Paychecks for Patriots' hiring events taking place Thursday at FSCJ's Downtown Campus

Jacksonville, FL — With Thursday marking a new month, it could be your chance for a new job.

Florida State College at Jacksonville, along with several partners, including CareerSource Northeast Florida, are hosting a job fair on November 1st.

More than 90 companies will be at the Fall Career Fair, ranging from Amazon to Duval County Public Schools to the FBI. To find a full list of who will be attending, click HERE.

Included as part of this job fair, CareerSource Northeast Florida is hosting a more specialized event known as 'Paychecks for Patriots,' which the organization says is all about helping connect veterans and their families to quality employers.

The 'Paychecks for Patriots' event will also include providing workshops to veterans and military families, which will occur on the following schedule:

9:00- 10:00 Federal Job Application Process

9:00- 10:00 VA Disability Claims Process

10:30- 11:30 Financial Counseling and Guidance

10:30- 11:30 VA Benefits

The combined events are being held at FSCJ's Downtown Campus in the Advanced Technology Center, located at 401 West State Street. The general job fair runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, while the 'Paychecks for Patriots' aspect will run from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Anyone planning to attend should come wearing professional wear and have multiple copies of their updated resume.

It's also recommended that you arrive early to allow plenty of time to visit and network with potential employers.
