Pedestrian hit by multiple vehicles, killed on I-95 at Trout River Bridge

Jacksonville, FL — Northbound lanes of I-95 were closed at the Trout River Bridge on Jacksonville’s northside for four hours early today.  A man in his early 60’s died on scene after he was hit by at least three vehicles, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 5:20 am. It’s unknown why the man, who hasn’t been publicly identified, was in the northbound lanes of I-95.  Alcohol may have been a factor, according to FHP.

One vehicle, believed to be a white semi truck, left the scene.  It was believed to be a 53-foot enclosed trailer. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Florida Highway Patrol at (904) 301-3700.
