Few scattered showers ahead of next cold front

JACKSONVILLE, FL. — Wednesday we’re tracking some clouds thickening through the day but also some sunshine at times. We’ve already seen some scattered, heavy showers from overnight with almost 2.3 inches of rain recorded at Mayport as of early Wednesday morning.

Action News Jax Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh says temperatures will reach the low to mid 80s Wednesday afternoon, upper 70s to lower 80s along the coast.

Scattered showers will be developing through the afternoon and into the evening. Embedded thunderstorms could also occur and linger into the overnight.

Come Thursday morning the showers and storms will continue and could possibly impact the early commute. Temperatures Thursday will be in the lower to mid 80s before the cold front passes and we dry out in the late afternoon and early evening.

Then the weather gets nice for the weekend and into next week!

In the tropics, we are monitoring Tropical Storm Karl which formed Tuesday in the Southern Gulf of Mexico. Read more in Talking the Tropics with Mike.
