Notes from the First Alert Weather team:
- A strong/severe thunderstorm moved through the I-95 corridor to the beaches mid-Saturday morning and is now offshore.
- There have been a few reports of hail from Saturday morning’s storms.
- The line of storms produced a quick 1-2″ of rain across much of the Jax metro.
- A lull in activity is expected by midday Saturday into the afternoon as the atmosphere “recovers” from Saturday morning’s storms.
- Additional storms are still possible late Saturday into Saturday night IF enough daytime heating can occur.
- Should additional storms form, they will be capable of additional heavy rain, lightning, gusty winds, and some hail.
- This continues to set the stage for elevated flooding risks Sunday and Monday (First Alert Weather Days) with more rounds of heavy rain expected.
