Here’s what the First Alert Weather Team said you can expect for the forecast:
- This morning is dry and mild with temperatures in the 70s under partly cloudy skies.
- High temperatures today will be limited to the upper 80s for most places thanks to clouds and rain in the afternoon.
- Rain will be locally heavy today, mainly along and west of I-95 to Highway 301 in the late afternoon.
- Slow-moving storms could bring a few inches of rain to a few neighborhoods, which may produce localized flooding.
- Frequent lightning strikes and gusty winds are also possible in today’s storms.
- Onshore winds will increase the rip current risk at the beaches to moderate while most rain stays inland away from the beaches.
- Sunday will feature more inland storms and temperatures near late August averages.
- Next week will feature a similar pattern with mainly inland afternoon showers and storms.

TROPICS:
- The remnants of Tropical Storm Dolly are quickly approaching the islands of the northern Caribbean. There is a small chance these remnants could redevelop in the southwest Atlantic near the Bahamas next week. We’ll watch it closely.
- Another area of weak low pressure in the Gulf has a low chance of development over the next few days as it moves slowly west.
