JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — This morning is dry and very warm with temperatures in the lower to middle 80s.
- Election Day will be a sizzler with highs in the upper 90s to near 100 before a few storms cool things down.
- Today’s record high in Jacksonville is 98°F. If rain holds off long enough, we could tie or break that record.
- Feels like temperatures will approach 110°F in many neighborhoods today. A few spots could briefly approach 113°F.
- Everyone should practice heat safety by staying hydrated and limiting outdoor work during the hottest part of the day.
- Afternoon storms should mainly be concentrated across northeast Florida today. They will be capable of torrential rainfall, numerous lightning strikes, and gusty winds.
- Wednesday will be similar with temperatures and afternoon storm chances.
- Some afternoon storms are likely each day over the next week.
- The Jags preseason game Friday will feature hot afternoon temperatures in the 90s (feels like 100s) but likely cooler by the game due to showers and thunderstorms.
