Jacksonville, FL — Nearly a year after a now-former University of North Florida student was first arrested for allegedly trying to extort sex acts out of another student, the State Attorney’s Office says he's now pleaded guilty to all of the cases he was facing and all of the counts in each case.
Additional charges were then added against Martinez in July 2018, when the University Police Department says they uncovered video files of a man using a residence hall bathroom and showering. Police believe those files came from a hidden camera planted by Martinez in Osprey Fountains.

Even more charges were then filed against Martinez in August 2018, when investigators say they uncovered a hidden camera inside a men's restroom at the Thomas G. Carpenter Library. Seven new victims were identified from this camera, according to police.
Now, the State Attorney’s Office confirms Martinez, 22, has entered guilty pleas to 31 counts of video voyeurism, 1 count of extortion, and 1 count of unlawful use of a two-way communications device.
The sentencing for Martinez will be set on May 6th.
