The suspect in the shooting death of a Middleburg teen has turned himself in.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office confirms Ozell McNabb Jr. has surrendered to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office without incident. He was booked in to the St. Johns County Jail at 1:19PM and brought to the Clay County Jail Tuesday evening.

McNabb faces felony murder and armed robbery charges.

McNabb is accused- with three other people- of the murder of 18-year-old Kolton Shearer in Green Cove Springs early Sunday. 28-year-old Taurean Johnson, 21-year-old Alexandra Schreffler, and 20-year-old Jordan Coleman were already caught by detectives and denied bond by a judge.

Another person was suffered a gunshot to the leg in the exchange that killed Shearer, but he’s expected to recover.  CCSO hasn’t yet released a full account of what happened, but we’re told robbery was the apparent motive.

McNabb immediately asked to speak with a lawyer after turning himself in, so he wasn’t interviewed by law enforcement. CCSO is still investigating how he got out of the County and if anyone helped him.
