Frank Butler Park East in St. Augustine closing on February 1st for improvement project

Improvements are on the way for a park in St. Augustine.

St. Johns County has announced that Frank Butler Park East will be closing beginning on Monday, February 1st, and won’t reopen until March. This closure includes the park’s beach walkover, horseback riding beach access, as well as the parking lot.

During the closure, the county says improvements will include adding additional parking spaces, new landscaping, and improvements to both the parking lot surface and beach walkover.

The county says a second phase of improvements is planned with that phase including renovating the bathrooms, adding ADA parking spaces, and constructing sidewalks. However, the date for that phase has not been set yet.

If you have any questions about the improvements or closures, you can call the county’s beach services at (904) 209-0331.
