JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The GATE River Run unveiled its official 50th Anniversary logo Tuesday ahead of the 15K road race in Jacksonville. The event is recognized as the largest 15K road race in the United States.
Lauren Waller, founder and designer of Inkling Creative, created the commemorative logo, which Jacksonville’s running community selected by popular vote.
The GATE River Run has taken place annually in Jacksonville since its inaugural race in 1978.

The logo features the Hart Bridge, a central landmark along the course of the race. The roadway approaching the bridge forms the shape of a five, while the arch of the bridge completes the zero for the 50th milestone mark. The design also incorporates the Jacksonville skyline and the St. Johns River.
Waller drew inspiration for the design from her father-in-law, John Waller, who encouraged her to enter the design contest. He is one of 17 remaining “streakers” who have participated in every running of the race since 1978. After breaking his femur, John Waller completed one race in a wheelchair, finishing the course despite losing a front wheel bolt on the Main Street Bridge during the first mile.

Lauren Waller established Inkling Creative following her recovery from a traumatic brain injury, an experience that required her to rebuild her memory and shaped her approach to brand design.
Registration for the 2027 race opens on Oct. 1, 2026. The 50th Anniversary GATE River Run will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2027.
