Jacksonville, FL — A Jacksonville man remains behind bars Monday afternoon, following his arrest for armed robbery and resisting an officer without violence over the weekend.
According to the Jacksonville's Sheriff's Office, Christopher Jefferson, 32, is accused of robbing the Subway on Lenox Avenue in Normandy at gunpoint on Saturday.
In the arrest report obtained by WOKV, investigators say Jefferson pointed a gun at one of the employees, as he demanded cash, saying, "I am going to shoot you. This is not a game!".
At some point during the robbery, the report says a customer walked in and was immediately ordered to the ground, though, she wasn't hurt.
After getting cash, the report says Jefferson fled on foot. Two officers then came into contact with him at Mamie Road and Lenox Avenue, but the report says he was able to pull away. Police say they caught up to Jefferson a short time later at a fenced in construction site on Mamie Road, where he was finally arrested.
Not long after Jefferson's arrest, JSO tweeted that he matched the description of an attempted carjacker. However, Jefferson's arrest report doesn't list any charges related to carjacking at this time.
