JAA says ‘aggressive planning process’ underway ahead of Republican National Convention

With a major portion of the Republican National Convention coming to Jacksonville in August, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority says an aggressive planning process is underway.

JAA says its primary goal is to make sure that visitors to our area have a safe and enjoyable time at its airport facilities, so planning is underway with airlines, TSA, rental car companies, and law enforcement agencies at all levels. JAA says it's also working closely with Mayor Lenny Curry's office, the 2020 RNC Host Committee, the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, and Visit Jacksonville.

WOKV told you earlier this month when JAA launched a new program to address the coronavirus outbreak called ‘Jax Airport Cares.’ Some of the measures included in that program include mandatory temperature checks for employees, reduced seating in dining areas, and a new disinfection system.

JAA is encouraging those flying into Jacksonville to check out the program to learn more. You can do that by clicking HERE.
