Jacksonville Humane Society providing free pet food to fedral workers during shutdown

Jacksonville — As the partial government shutdown continues, federal workers won’t have to choose between feeding themselves or their furry friends.

Jax Humane Society is opening up their pet food bank to families in need.  Saturdays from 10 a.m. until noon workers impacted by the shut down can pick up dog and cat food from the Humane Society warehouse at 1821 Foster Drive, Jacksonville.  Workers should bring an ID verifying their federal employment.

The Humane Society is also asking that people donate pet food for families in need. They accept any size of food at the Beach Boulevard location or you can make donations online, here.
