Jacksonville, FL — It was all over a garden stone.
The State Attorney's Office has announced that Quintae Hudson, 27, of Jacksonville, has been found guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, three counts of tampering with a witness, directing the activities of a gang, and shooting or throwing deadly missiles.
According to court documents, testimony, and extensive jail calls, the convictions all stem from a 2014 case, where Hudson threw a garden stone through a friend's vehicle window, injuring a child. Hudson was arrested and charged for that crime.
The incident was also witnessed by an apartment complex security guard, identified as Michael Wright, 62.
But while Hudson was in jail, law enforcement says he contacted and conspired with fellow gang members to have Wright killed on Easter Sunday of 2016, as Hudson was a high-ranking member of the Neighborhood Bloods Rolling 20's gang.
Hudson later tampered with additional witnesses in the case against him.
He now faces a mandatory life sentence in Florida State Prison. Hudson's sentencing hearing has been set for the week of August 14th.
