JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — There is a free event this weekend to support minority-owned business owners in northeast Florida.
Nashon Nicks and The First Coast Leadership Foundation are hosting the first-ever “Americans of African Descent Economic Summit.”
Organizers say the theme of the event is, “Mobilizing Attainable Wealth,” and the goal is to strengthen businesses owned by people of color by helping entrepreneurs across a number of areas. Those include best practices, collaboration, networking opportunities and access to capital.
Nicks says representatives from the Small Business Development Center, Beaver Street Enterprise, Self Help Credit Union, Black Business Development Center, Legacy Financial Services and Accounting, One Bridge Connect and Legacy Staffing Solutions are participating in the event.
The event is free and lunch will be provided, but you have to reserve a seat.
It is happening Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Beaver Street Enterprise.
