Jacksonville, FL — Jacksonville Jaguars Defensive End Dante Fowler Jr. has been suspended without pay for the first game of the 2018 regular season.
The NFL says the suspension is for a violation of the League’s Personal Conduct Policy. Further details about the nature of the violation have not been made available.

The NFL says Fowler will be eligible to return to the active roster on September 10th, which is after the September 9th game against the New York Giants. He can participate in all preseason activities.
Jags’ Executive Vice President of Football Operations Tom Coughlin released a statement, saying they will abide by the League’s ruling. He further says they will work to ensure Fowler is ready to play when he can officially do so with the team.
While the nature of this suspension is not clear, Fowler pleaded no contest earlier this year to a misdemeanor battery case in Pinellas County.
Second straight camp Fowler will have to answer questions about off field. This actually could stem from last year’s events. If anyone was surprised Jags didn’t pick up option, this probably was more reason against it. #ASJax
