Jacksonville, FL — After a deadly, quadruple shooting near the University of North Florida on Town Center Parkway, late Tuesday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is releasing new details about what they believe happened.
According to JSO, they now believe the shooting was not a random act of violence, but appears to have stemmed from an ongoing dispute between two groups.
Police say the four people shot were approaching the intersection of Town Center Parkway and I-295, just before 11 PM, when another vehicle pulled up next to them and fired multiple times into their car.
Three of the four people inside that car have died from their injuries, while the fourth remains in serious condition at the hospital.
JSO has identified the three people killed as Trevon Bullard, 18, Royale D’Von Smith Jr., 18, and Jercoby Da’Shad Groover, 19.
Police say there were multiple vehicles at or near the intersection at the time the shooting took place, so they're asking anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward.
