Investigators have not been able to speak with the victim because he is undergoing surgery, the sheriff’s office said.

Shell casings were recovered at the scene, and crime scene detectives are processing the scene for additional evidence and following up on leads, according to JSO.

The sheriff’s office said it believes the shooting was an isolated incident and does not appear to be domestic-related.
