Jacksonville, FL — A woman is in critical condition, after a shooting on Jacksonville's far Westside, in what continues to be a string of violence leading up to Christmas.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says they were called just before 12:30 PM to a home on Brockham Drive, not far from Crystal Springs Road, after a woman was shot multiple times, including in the foot, the side, and even in the head.
Despite her injuries, police say the woman was able to go to several nearby homes, asking people to call 911.
As for what led up to the shooting, JSO says there appears to have been some altercation between the woman and a man, who has since been taken into custody.
Police haven't released the relationship between the two, but say it appears to be an isolated incident, with no lingering threat to the community.
JSO is asking anyone with information to call the sheriff's office at (904) 630-0500 or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
