For Locals By Locals Spotlight on Oceana

Created by the same team who brought us Taverna, comes Oceana. Taverna leans more into Italian cuisine, whereas Oceana leans into seafood.

Oceana is Jacksonville’s newest raw oyster bar and seafood restaurant with an extensive menu featuring fresh ingredients. Each dish is flavorful and beautifully designed, and if you like oysters, Oceana’s are a must-try! Lobster Thermidor, crab legs, Vietnamese seafood stew and miso glazed Chilean sea bass are also on the menu.

If you’re in the mood, try a tasty craft cocktail. The Oceana Martini is EG Organic Vodka or Beefeater gin, vermouth, sea salt black pepper tincture and lemon bitters. You can add an oyster for $3 or caviar for the market price. Or the Melon Ball made with Savage and Cooke rye whiskey, salted melon, honey, lemon, celery bitters and mint. They also have an extensive champagne bar, and a selection of wine and beer as well.

Their dessert menu includes a gluten free blackberry panna cotta, with white chocolate-graham Florentine, Lemon, lavender and thyme. They offer a selection of gelatos and sorbettos, and they’ll make you an affogato if you’re in the mood for espresso with your gelato.

Currently, they are only open for dinner, but lunch and brunch service is planned for the future.
